About me

My name is Anneliese Peters. This is my first year at Piñon and I am excited to join such a wonderful group of students and staff. Each week I work with every class on a Social Emotional Learning curriculum called Second Step. These lessons are about teaching students problem solving, emotion management, empathy and skills for learning, which help them both in school and at home. I also work with students on an individual and group basis on problems that can impact them here at school. Any student can come talk to me about anything that is bothering them, and I work with them to help work through the issue and help them develop the skills to solve the problem. Sometimes there are things that I, or parents, believe would be better addressed with more support from an outside counselor. Because of this I have included a list of community resources for both students and parents to take advantage of if they are needed.

Please don’t hesitate to call or email me with anything you, as a parent, or your student need help with.
